Despite waiting over an hour for a blood test (don't go over lunch time?) and then not getting the results in clinic, the doc was generally happy!
Based on last weeks blood results (INR=1.2 bilirubin = 217) he is reducing the steroids to 15mg from next week. And he only wants to see me every 2 weeks! I have officially graduated!
The ct scan from a few weeks ago showed that my liver is a bit small and has an irregular shape but the doc wasn't worried. It is the damage from the initial
'Injury' and it will be working hard to regenerate itself as we speak.
Thus all the numbers are going in the right direction and he is hopeful of a recovery. However when the steroids get under 10mg there is a danger of flare ups that can only be detected via blood results. I won't get any symptoms. Pretty weird hey? I will still be yellow for while though!
We talked about activity levels. I said my holiday in the new forest was good and I came back feeling much stronger. This despite having over done it on our day trip to the Isle of Wight. (It took me 36 hours to recover!!!) but in the long run it was good for me. So I will keep going - slowly but surely. The doc called all of this being deconditioned from a long hospital stay and a serious illness and that I am doing to right things. It's all abit frustrating to be honest but I have to do what my body says!
I think I might try driving tomorrow!!!!
The downside of not going every week is that I won't get my lunch with Mark (and he won't get a dissertation tutorial!) :-(
I managed to walk from the hospital main entrance to the car without needing to sit down! Now that was a first.
It's a rest day today. Yesterday was a 6 hour round trip!
Thank you for listening!!!!
