I had to laugh!

For those of you not following me on Facebook (mum?)

I bought these jeggings without trying them on. Have I not been informed about a new fashion trend?!

News from the Free!

Forgot to tell you, loyal reader (s) that I had my MRI scan on Monday. All very efficient.

Results in clinic on the 10th Feb.

Also having a laugh about the letters from the clinic to my GP and copied to me. It takes so long for them to be typed. And they come out of order. Me thinks that the Registrar has less weight in the typing pool than the Consultant!

DeLIVERance walk 16

Name: shenley heights + a bit extra

Been a few days since my last walk. Think I've been fighting something as I've been very tired. Also it's been raining a lot!

Distance: 1.6 miles

Steps: 3320

Weather: cloudy with some blue sky

Wind through hair rating: 2/10 only on extra bit - a wind swept selfie.....

Extra bit: I investigated the restricted byway. It now avoids the farm yard and joins up with the RB that's goes to Theobald St

Dogs: 0

People: 0

Sheep:0

Red kite: at last -1 - I've waiting all month for this!

Oh yes it is!

Thoughts: where's my motivation gone? The amount of effort required to do this walk! Hurray a red kite; getting fed up of feeling tired; how can I get my brain into gear?

Some interesting fungi

Spring nearly there?

DeLIVERance walk 15

name: round the lake at Aldenham Country Park (I was there for a meeting so I thought why not! I had a token for parking too)

weather: cold with sunny spells

distance: 1.6 miles (had pedometer this time - good guess from last walk!)

steps: 3375

walked it much more quickly this time - only 36 minutes! No stops.

Next time I do this walk I will add on the extra bit that follows the lake.

dogs: not one - very disappointed :-(

people: same person twice

birds species: at least 17 (robin, pigeon, black bird, magpie, swan, mallard, moorhen, coot, grebe, widgeon, gull, tufted duck, sparrow, blue tit, brown ducky thing I didn't recognise, cormerant, crow) and all the ones I could hear but couldn't see!

thoughts: what will the lake look like if they drain it? should I help with lambing? drainage and muddy path; shifting clay dams; my hip is twinging again (but not for long); this walk is becoming easier (ergo I'm getting fitter!)

for my keen follower (Andrew!) photos will be uploaded in an edit as I don't have any 3G (never mind 4G!) to upload this post!

DeLIVERance walk 14

Name: south through the ginnels from Radlett park

Weather: cold and misty

Distance: 1.7 miles

Steps: 3600

Wind through hair rating: 0

Dogs: obviously the place to be. There was an en masse group of 6 being walked round the park (including a wolf hound thing) then I saw 3 westies and a Labrador.

Walked up a bridle way I'd never been p before. At the top they are building 4 hidious 'Radlett' houses.

Feeling v tired. Started with a headache (gone now) and eyes are all gunky from barrier cream to stop runny eyes stinging! Therefore couldn't see distance!

Thoughts: looking for concentration inspiration - nothing! Why do I feel sooo tired? How on earth did they get planning permission for those dreadful houses? Why are all these ginnels here? Ho hum.....

Misty morning

This has to be the most boring walk ever! Nothing of interest to note except my state of health. Every step was an effort. Hip hurting. Feeling v v tired. It was going to be a longer walk but I knew I couldn't do it. Thighs are v cold! Enough of this whinging.

Here are some pictures of things in early bud (looking for things made me realise how ever green Radlett is!)

My New Year's Revolution! DeLIVERance by walking!

So I decided that I needed some new targets! Over the hols I managed to walk all the way round Aldenham Country Park Lake! A total of 1.5 miles. And we picked up a geocache on the way!

My focus for 2014 has to be regaining my fitness and stamina. What better way to do this than by a daily (ish) walk!

Every time I walk I will post a photo. I will try and log the distance too (if I can get the pedometer to work on my phone!) and a few other snippets if interest.

Alex geocaching at Aldenham CP!

News from the Free! (30th December 2014)

So I spent the whole day in the environs of the Royal Free on a horrible wet and windy day.

I finally got to grips with the blood service - it has to say on the bar code that it is processed urgently - and only the doc can change that. Once this is done I don't have to go twice in one week. Amazingly I only had to wait 3 mins in the queue (it's usually about 45 mins ).

After bloods I retreated firstly to costa on Belsize Park and then to the pub (having got soaked)

At the clinic I did see the consultant (who changed my blood code!). My bilirubin is 55! Not quit normal but I'm in that zone (20-80) where my yellowness is not quite as noticeable. My other liver functions are still a bit elevated (nothing compared to what they were). I'm to have an MRI. I next go to the clinic in 6 weeks.

And finally I'm down to 10mg of prednisolone. Getting there ..... Slowly.
